A Franklin County jury has determined that former NHL player and Dallas Star member Mike Ribeiro is not guilty of sexual assault.
Ribeiro faced charges of two counts of sexual assault and one count of attempted sexual assault. The jury reached a not guilty verdict on the sexual assault charges but deadlocked on the count of attempted sexual assault. It remains uncertain whether Ribeiro will be retried on the third charge. The trial began on January 23, 2024, and the jury deliberated for over 11 hours following closing arguments presented on Thursday, February 1, 2024.
