In the early hours of February 1, 2024, Longview Police responded to a call regarding a bicycle obstructing the roadway in the vicinity of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Rayburn Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of a 46-year-old male in close proximity, exhibiting injuries consistent with a dog bite.
Collaborating with law enforcement, animal control officers have confiscated multiple dogs from a residence in the area. The Longview Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, with the cause of death yet to be determined. A final autopsy is pending.
