Kaufman County Sheriff’s deputies acted on a tip from an outside agency, leading to the arrest of 53-year-old John Bowser from Dallas, Texas. The tip indicated a possible wanted person driving a blue Ford truck near FM 548 and US HWY 80.
Upon investigation, deputies located the vehicle in the Walmart parking lot in Forney, Texas. Subsequently, they approached the driver, identified as John Bowser, and confirmed that he was wanted out of Garland, Texas for Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information.
During the arrest, authorities discovered 42 Walmart gift cards in Bowser's pocket, with an additional 121 Walmart gift cards recovered from his vehicle. Additionally, law enforcement found .5 grams of suspected methamphetamines and a card reader attached to a Microsoft tablet in the arrestee’s vehicle.
John Bowser was transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center, where he faces charges related to outside agency warrants and possession of a substance in penalty group 1 (< 1 gram).
The investigation is ongoing.
