At approximately 11:50 pm on January 29, 2024, the Terrell Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting an airplane crash in the 2300 block of Airport Road.
The incident involved a Cessna fixed-wing, single-engine aircraft that attempted an emergency landing after losing engine power. The aircraft had departed from the Terrell Municipal Airport.
Both the pilot and passenger on board the Cessna sustained minor injuries in the crash. They were treated and released.
Authorities have taken action, with the Department of Public Safety and the Federal Aviation Administration being notified of the incident. Both agencies will be conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the emergency landing and assess any potential safety concerns.
