In an update to our previous report on the stolen Ford Bush Hog Loader tractor and wood chipper from Delta County, the Delta County Sheriff's Office has made significant progress in the case. On Monday, January 22, 2024, the stolen tractor surfaced on social media, listed for sale in the Kemp, TX area. The owner positively identified the tractor, leading the investigation to a residence in Kaufman County.
Deputies from the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office successfully recovered the stolen tractor However, the suspected thief, identified as 29-year-old Kemp resident Ethan Taylor, had vacated the premises before their arrival. A warrant has now been issued for Taylor's arrest.
As of now, the wood chipper remains unrecovered. Law enforcement urges the public's assistance in locating Ethan Taylor. Authorities believe Taylor may still be in the Kaufman County area.
UPDATE: On January 27th, the Delta County Sheriff's Office posted that the wood chipper was located. The wood chipper was sold to a Kaufman County resident. Contact was made with the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office and they were able to successfully recover the property.
UPDATE #2: On January 30th, Ethan Taylor turned himself in to Delta County Jail.
