A man from Point, Texas in Rains County had to plead guilty again in a Tyler courtroom to the production and transportation of child pornography.
38-year-old Michael David Crider, Jr. has previously plead guilty to the indictments, but a federal judge rejected the proposed plea deal of 180 months in prison.
Crider is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of children in producing child pornography and two counts of transportation of child pornography.
The judge ruled the sentence was too lenient because the victim was a toddler. The minimum sentence for using a child under the age of 12 in the production of pornography is 360 months in prison.
Judge Nicole Mitchell is presiding over the case. Sentencing will be decided at a later date.
