Last Saturday, at 9:22 pm on January 13th, a Paris Police officer responded to a disturbance in the 800 block of S. Main St. The officer encountered Xeryus Arianna Bright, 25, who was severely intoxicated and unable to stand. Despite living in the complex, Bright couldn't access her residence due to not having the correct key.
The officer tried to assist Bright in entering her apartment, but her level of intoxication, coupled with the cold temperatures, posed a safety concern. Consequently, the officer decided to arrest her for Public Intoxication.
During the arrest, Bright resisted by jerking away from the officers and using her weight to prevent handcuffing and transportation to the patrol unit. As a result, charges of Resisting Arrest or Transport were added to the initial Public Intoxication charge.
