In a tragic incident near Naples and the Morris-Cass County line on Wednesday night (Jan. 10), a single-vehicle crash claimed the lives of two individuals.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred after 7 p.m. when a motorcycle traveling west on US Highway 67 collided with an animal. The impact resulted in both the driver and passenger being knocked off the motorcycle and onto the road.
The victims have been identified as 53-year-old Benny Dan Snyder of Redwater, the driver, and 40-year-old Darlene Green-Hurst of Maud, the passenger. It is noted that neither of them was wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
