Paris Police Department received a 9-1-1 call on Thursday evening at 7:11, reporting gunshots in the 700 block of West Kaufman Street. The address had experienced multiple disturbances throughout the day. While officers were at the scene, they heard two gunshots in the vicinity.
According to several witnesses, a known suspect drove by in a Grand Marquis, holding a pistol out of the front driver-side window and firing one round into the air. Earlier in the day, the same suspect had brandished the firearm at victims in the 100 block of NW 3rd Street.
The ex-girlfriend of the suspect claimed that he was using the same pistol that he had allegedly shot her with in July of 2023.
