Burglaries Target Paris Vehicles: Firearms Stolen, Police Urge Increased Vigilance

Paris Police Officers responded to a reported vehicle burglary in the 4200 block of Castlegate on Monday morning at 7:58. The victim informed authorities that his father's truck, parked at their residence, had been unlawfully entered. Among the stolen items were a Canik handgun, ammunition, and blank checks.

The victim discovered the incident after receiving a message from a neighbor around 1:00 am, urging them to secure their vehicle due to suspicious activity captured on video. Unfortunately, the victim only saw the message in the morning, by which time the unauthorized entry had already occurred.

Additionally, another vehicle in the vicinity, located in the 700 block of Pecan Court, was targeted. The owner reported that their car's alarm sounded around 5:00 am, but they neglected to investigate at the time. It was later revealed that a Walther .22 caliber pistol had been taken from the console.

Paris Police emphasize the importance of securing vehicles by locking them and urge citizens not to leave firearms unsecured within their vehicles, following these recent incidents.
