Paris Police Rescue Abandoned Toddler: Child Protective Services Intervenes

A Paris Police officer discovered a three-year-old child alone on the sidewalk in the 300 block of East Price during a routine patrol at 4:48 PM. The child, barefoot and wearing a short-sleeved shirt, was taken into custody by the officer, who then made efforts to locate a family member.

After some investigation, the officer found a family member who had initially left the child with another adult. However, this adult had abandoned the child and left the area. Concerned for the child's welfare, the officer contacted Child Protective Services.

Child Protective Services promptly intervened and placed the child with another family member while the police continued their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
