Harrison County Man Arrested for Meth Possession After Allegedly Stealing from Own Brother

Raul Deleon Jr

A Harrison County Sheriff Deputy responded to a call on FM 9 South regarding a theft on Monday. The complainant reported that his brother, 28-year-old Raul Deleon Jr. of Waskom, TX, had allegedly stolen his personal checks during the Christmas holiday. Confronted by the complainant earlier in the day, Deleon opted to leave the premises before the deputy arrived.

During the deputy's on-site investigation, Deleon was spotted driving slowly past the residence. Eye contact between Deleon and the deputy prompted the former to flee the area. The deputy successfully located Deleon just south of the initial scene.

Upon obtaining consent for a vehicle search, law enforcement discovered a clear baggie containing meth residue. A more extensive search uncovered an additional baggie containing 1 gram of methamphetamine. Consequently, Deleon was apprehended and booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance.

This incident marks the third arrest for Deleon in Harrison County. On June 5, 2023, he faced charges of assault causing bodily injury in a family violence context, resulting in a 24-day jail stay. However, the case was later rejected for prosecution. Subsequently, on August 28, 2023, Deleon was arrested again, this time for theft and criminal mischief, leading to nearly two months behind bars. He was released on October 23, 2023.
