On December 26, 2023, at approximately 6:00 P.M., a civilian aircraft crashed in the vicinity of 114 Private Road 7005, Edgewood, Texas. The plane came to rest after colliding with a residence, resulting in minor damage to the home. Fortunately, no one was inside the residence at the time of the incident.
The pilot and sole occupant of the aircraft, identified as Roger D. Turner, 60, a resident of Edgewood, Texas, was later pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
Representatives from the Federal Aviation Administration (F.A.A.) and the National Transportation Safety Board (N.T.S.B.) arrived at the crash site to conduct the investigation. Texas State Troopers were present at the location to ensure security.
