On December 18, 2023, at around 9:52 pm, 68-year-old Stephen Howard of Emory was taken into custody and charged with indecency with a child. Howard's bond has been set at $200,000, and he is currently being held at the Rains County Jail pending further legal proceedings.
In a separate incident on the afternoon of December 24, 2023, Rains County Sheriff deputies apprehended 28-year-old Dylan Blake Ingram of Point for burglary of vehicles. Ingram was booked into the Rains County Jail at 5:07 pm on the same day and remains in custody.
