Man Arrested in Marshall, Texas, for Assault and Ongoing Threats; Past History Raises Concerns

Tyler Kyle Truehitt

In a disturbing incident on Sue Bell Lake Road, a man was assaulted by another individual who reportedly threatened to harm a female co-worker. The victim, who called the Harrison County Sheriff's Office, was punched to the ground and kicked during the altercation.

Upon receiving the call, a responding deputy spoke with the assailant by phone, where the suspect not only confessed to the assault but also issued threats to assault the victim's father. The deputy managed to locate and apprehend the suspect while he was driving on Hwy 80.

The arrested individual has been identified as 36-year-old Tyler Kyle Truehitt of Marshall. Truehitt faces charges of Assault Family Violence and Obstruction or Retaliation. It was revealed that he was already on probation for a previous assault causing bodily injury in a family violence case dating back to 2021 in Upshur County.

On February 12, 2023, he was arrested by the Harrison County Sheriff's Office for a motion to revoke his probation. Subsequently, on September 19, 2023, he was arrested again after a traffic stop. Notably, he still had an outstanding warrant for arrest from the Upshur County Sheriff's Office related to the previous family violence case.

Truehitt spent eight days in jail, released on September 27th to Upshur County Sheriff Deputies. However, it remains unclear when he was released from the Upshur County Jail, as a bond forfeiture was issued.

The ongoing threats and violent behavior exhibited by Truehitt have raised concerns about the safety of those involved.
