In Paris, Texas, on Friday morning, December 22, 2023, at 2:22 AM, a local police officer conducted a routine traffic stop after a vehicle ran a red light in the 10-block of SE 12th. Upon approaching the driver, identified as 29-year-old Aaron Austin Iles, the officer observed signs of intoxication.
Following the discovery of several open containers inside the vehicle, the officer administered field sobriety tests, which Iles reportedly failed. Consequently, he was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).
During a thorough vehicle inventory, law enforcement found a handgun inside the console. As a result, Aaron Austin Iles faces an additional charge of Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, attributed to his state of intoxication at the time of the incident.
