On December 17, 2023, at 10:28 pm, the Forney Communications Center fielded 911 calls reporting a shooting near the 100 block of Mandarin Street. Responding officers discovered a female victim in the garage of 120 Mandarin Street with apparent gunshot wounds. The woman was pronounced deceased on the scene, and her identification is pending notification to her next of kin.
Upon canvassing the area, officers found evidence suggesting that the suspect fled after sustaining injuries. The Forney Communications Center promptly shared information with surrounding agencies. Shortly thereafter, the Arlington Police Department notified Forney about the discovery of a deceased gunshot individual within their jurisdiction. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner is working to identify the deceased in Arlington.
Forney and Arlington police detectives have established a connection between the two scenes. The Texas Rangers are assisting in the ongoing investigation. Authorities encourage anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Forney Police Department at 972-552-6625.
