On Sunday afternoon, a caller alerted Paris Dispatch about an alleged home invasion in progress before 1:00 pm. According to the report, an unknown male forcibly entered a residence in the 1100 block of SE 5th Street while the caller's daughter was inside. A Paris Officer promptly responded to the scene.
Upon the officer's arrival, the daughter recounted hearing a thumping noise and investigating the source. To her surprise, she discovered the front door ajar, with an unfamiliar male inside the living room. When questioned about the caller's whereabouts, the intruder left the premises, got into a white passenger car, and drove away from the scene.
Paris Police detectives have identified the suspect, and an ongoing investigation into the incident has been launched, classifying it as a Burglary of Habitation case.
