In an incident this Thursday morning at 7:45, emergency responders from the Paris Police Department, Paris Fire Department, Paris Animal Control, and Lamar County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 3800 block of Clarksville St. following an overturned cattle truck. The accident involved a semi-truck hauling a double-decker cattle trailer carrying 99 head of cattle.
Despite efforts to contain the situation, several cattle managed to escape. Prompt response and collaboration led to the successful capture of all but one of the escaped animals. Unfortunately, one of the cattle was found deceased, another severely injured, and one remains unaccounted for.
Witnesses reported seeing the missing animal in the Woodall Field area. Authorities are actively working to locate and secure the remaining loose cattle.
