In the early hours of Wednesday at 3:20 AM, Paris Police officers responded to a motor vehicle burglary report at a restaurant located in the 2400 block of N. Main. The victim reported a break-in to their vehicle, stating that a credit card and checks were missing.
The incident took an unexpected turn when an individual who had placed an order at the restaurant using the stolen credit card failed to pick up the order. Officers remained at the scene and later approached 37-year-old Cody Liles Porter upon his arrival to collect the food.
During the encounter, Porter was found to be in possession of the stolen credit card. However, he denied involvement in the vehicle burglary. Despite his denial, Cody Liles Porter was taken into custody and charged with Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information.
