On December 1, 2023, at approximately 9:20 am, the Longview Police Department received a report concerning threats made by a student towards fellow students and staff at Foster Middle School. The school resource officer initiated an investigation, resulting in the apprehension of the student in question on school premises.
Following the arrest, the student was transported to the Gregg County Juvenile Detention Center and has been charged with Terroristic Threat, classified as a third-degree felony. The Longview Police Department emphasizes its commitment to ensuring the safety of students across Longview school campuses.
Law enforcement officials underscore the seriousness with which all potential threats of violence are treated, asserting that thorough investigations will continue to be conducted in response to similar incidents within school environments.
