Shreveport Man With Three Children Onboard Causes Crash in Marshall, Arrested for DWI

Marshall Police have arrested a Shreveport man, Louis Elliott Tackett, 31, following a Thanksgiving Day traffic accident. Tackett is currently held in the Harrison County Jail, facing charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Child Endangerment.

The incident occurred around 3:20 p.m. on November 23, when Marshall Police responded to a report of a traffic accident at the westbound exit ramp of Interstate 20 at East End Boulevard South. According to a witness, Tackett displayed erratic driving behavior on I-20, then exited at South East End Blvd., ran a red light, and collided with an 18-wheeler in the intersection. Subsequently, he attempted to reverse down the ramp, but the vehicle jumped a curb and came to a stop.

Upon arrival, officers noted that Tackett showed signs of impairment, and three children were found as passengers in the vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The children were placed in the care of relatives.

Tackett's bond has been set at $77,000.
