On the night of November 21, 2023, Wood County Sheriff Deputies were called to address a disturbance on FM 49. Upon arrival, they found a situation involving a victim and his ex-partner along with some friends at his residence. A verbal argument ensued, leading to a physical confrontation where one of the males charged at the victim.
In an act of self-defense, the victim retrieved a firearm. However, despite this precaution, the suspect managed to strike the victim, resulting in the loss of several teeth. Coy Mark Allen Anderson, a resident of Mineola, was subsequently arrested on charges of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.
Anderson's bond has been set at $20,000. The incident is under investigation by the Wood County Sheriff's Office.
