On November 21, 2023, emergency services in Paris responded to a major single-car accident in the 3800 block of Jefferson Road. The incident resulted in two fatalities and a serious injury.
According to authorities, the vehicle ran off the road, collided with a utility pole, and subsequently burst into flames. Seventeen-year-old Dakota Ryan Cole, a resident of Reno, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Cole was a passenger in the back seat of the vehicle.
Twenty-year-old Tyler Joseph Beaver, a Paris resident, was airlifted to a hospital in Plano for emergency surgery. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during the medical procedure.
The driver of the vehicle, Dalton Worthy, was transported to Paris Regional before being flown to another hospital. Worthy is currently in recovery.
