On November 25, 2023, Sulphur Springs Offices responded to a theft report at Walmart, where two individuals were alleged to have stolen several items. The suspects, identified as 60-year-old Araceli Caballero of Hollywood, FL, and her daughter, 36-year-old Natasha Fox (Caballero) of Greenville, were reported to have skipped scanning multiple items before attempting to leave the store.
Store employees intervened and stopped the pair after they had passed all points of sale. The total value of the unscanned merchandise was reported to be $733.55. Upon further inspection at the jail, several tags believed to have been removed from store items were discovered.
Both Araceli Caballero and Natasha Fox were subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Hopkins County Jail, where they were booked on charges of theft.
