At approximately 1:10 am, on November 18, 2023, the Longview Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 600 Block of Buchanan Avenue.
Upon arrival, fire crews found a working fire with visible flames originating from the front right corner of the residence. Longview Fire personnel immediately initiated an interior attack on the fire while conducting primary and secondary searches of the structure.
The estimated damage to the residence is approximately $90,000. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries in the incident. The sole occupant of the house, who was asleep at the time of the fire, managed to escape unharmed.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, and investigations are underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to the incident.
The Longview Fire Department deployed a robust response team, including three (3) fire engines, two (2) ladder trucks, one (1) ambulance, and four (4) support vehicles, totaling 21 personnel.
