Paris Regional Health Earns Coveted "A" Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group

Paris Regional Health has been awarded an "A" Hospital Safety Grade by The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to setting standards for excellence in patient care. The grade is based on over 30 national performance measures that assess errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the effectiveness of the hospital's systems in preventing harm.

Steve Hyde, CEO at Paris Regional, expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, "Our Leapfrog Hospital Safety A grade reflects the tireless dedication of our medical staff and employees in ensuring a safe, quality care experience for our patients. We are very pleased with this distinction, which celebrates our achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and errors."

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is a unique rating program focused on hospital prevention of medical errors, infections, and injuries that result in over 500 patient deaths daily across the nation. The grades are updated semiannually in the fall and spring, and the program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and accessible.

Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group, commended Paris Regional Health, saying, "Earning an ‘A’ Grade means Paris Regional Health made a true commitment to put patients first. We congratulate the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff, and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement."
