On November 12, 2023, at approximately 07:30 a.m., the City of Kaufman Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 1700 block of South Houston Street in Kaufman.
Kaufman Officers and Detectives swiftly arrived at the scene, conducting a thorough search of the area. Fortunately, it was confirmed that nobody was injured, and no damage to any property was reported or located at this time. However, shell casings were discovered at the site of the incident.
According to witnesses, the shots were reportedly fired from a white SUV vehicle. In the course of their investigation, Detectives obtained home camera footage from a vigilant citizen capturing the suspect vehicle in the vicinity.
As the investigation progressed, law enforcement successfully located a vehicle and an individual of interest, accompanied by additional evidence. The City of Kaufman Police Department emphasizes that the investigation is active and ongoing at this time.
