In the early hours of Thursday at 2:04 am, a Paris police officer responded to a disturbance call at the Booker T. Washington Homes. The call was made in response to a reported altercation at the location.
Upon arrival, the officer encountered a victim, a woman who is two months pregnant, with visible injuries. She was bleeding from her forehead and her knee. The victim informed the responding officer that her boyfriend, who was reportedly intoxicated, had assaulted her by punching her in the head multiple times.
As a result of the incident, the Paris police officers arrested the alleged perpetrator, identified as Rudy Riojas, 22 years old. Riojas was taken into custody on charges related to Assault of a Pregnant Person.
The injured victim was subsequently transported to Paris Regional Health for medical evaluation and treatment. She also requested an Emergency Protective Order for her safety.
