On Saturday night, the Rusk County Sheriff's Office responded to a suspicious vehicle call in the 3400 block of FM 13. Deputies arrived at the scene to find two men engaged in a physical altercation in a ditch near the reported truck.
Upon their arrival, one of the individuals involved in the fight, later identified as 48-year-old Stacy Smith from Henderson, abruptly entered the reported truck. Smith then proceeded to ram the patrol car with his vehicle before accelerating away from the scene.
A pursuit ensued, with Smith driving the truck onto County Road 416 and FM 13. Deputies managed to apprehend Smith, placing him under arrest on several felony charges related to the incident.
The Rusk County Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation into the matter.
