FORNEY, Texas - Forney police have identified two suspects wanted in connection with a fatal shooting Sunday at a residence in the city, saying the attack appears to have been targeted.
Officers responded on July 26 to a reported shooting at a home in the 300 block of Eagle Ridge, where they found one person dead.
As detectives processed the scene, investigators quickly developed leads and issued an alert for two suspects who were last seen in the area of Eagle Ridge, Van Buren and Cisco streets.
Police initially described the suspects as two tall Black males. One was described as approximately 6 feet to 6 feet 1 inch tall and wearing all black clothing. The second was described as a lighter-skinned Black male wearing a gray shirt and a black mask.
Investigators believe the suspects fled the area in a vehicle immediately after the shooting.
Officers conducted an extensive search, but investigators later determined the suspects had likely escaped the Forney area.
On Monday, July 27, the Forney Police Department publicly identified the suspects as 18-year-old Jakub Lavoy East-Walker of Mesquite and 19-year-old Mysiah Clark of Dallas.
Police said both men remain at large and are not believed to be in the immediate Forney area.
According to investigators, evidence indicates the shooting was a targeted attack involving individuals who knew one another.
The Forney Police Department said it is continuing to work with local and state law enforcement agencies to locate the suspects.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of East-Walker or Clark, or anyone who sees either suspect, is urged to call 911 immediately.
The investigation remains ongoing.
