Larue Woman Sentenced to Decades in Prison for Heroin and Meth Trafficking

HENDERSON COUNTY, TX – Joni Diane Yow received a combined 35-year sentence on Monday, October 13, for Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The sentence was handed down by 3rd District Court Judge Mark Calhoon, with Assistant District Attorney Jeff Herrington representing the State.

On January 30, 2025, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office investigators executed a search warrant at Yow’s Larue residence. At the time, she had an active felony warrant. Officers discovered 30.27 grams of heroin, 1.50 grams of methamphetamine, glass pipes, ziploc baggies with marijuana, and a black digital scale. Yow admitted to purchasing the heroin and methamphetamine and hiding the drugs at her home.

Yow has a long criminal history, including previous convictions for Possession of Controlled Substance, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Theft, Hindering Apprehension, and Failure to Identify. Her latest sentence reflects the severity of her repeated offenses.
