Five members of the East Texas A&M University Rodeo Team have qualified to compete at the 2025 College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR), set for June 15–21 in Casper, Wyoming.
The university, aiming for a fourth consecutive individual national title, will be represented by Trace Harris, Jill White, Rylee George, Mayce Marek, and Garrett Freeman.
Harris secured his third CNFR berth after finishing first in the Southern Region standings in Steer Wrestling, with wins at Northeast Texas Community College, McNeese State University, Texas A&M University, and East Texas A&M's home rodeo.
Freeman earned his first CNFR qualification with a third-place finish in Team Roping (Header). He posted event victories at Northeast Texas and McNeese.
White, also making her first CNFR appearance, took the top spot in Breakaway Roping, with wins at Panola College and East Texas A&M.
George will compete in her fifth CNFR, qualifying with a second-place finish in Breakaway Roping after winning at Southwest Texas College.
Marek returns to the CNFR for the first time since 2022, qualifying with a second-place finish in Goat Tying and event wins at Texas A&M and Wharton County Junior College.
CNFR automatic bids are awarded to the top three individual finishers in each event and the top two teams in each region under National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) rules. Neither the men's nor women's teams from East Texas A&M secured a team spot this year.
Tickets and more information are available at the official CNFR website.
