Hunt County Deputies responded to a disturbance call on Thursday, May 8, 2024, where they encountered 22-year-old Edward Dewayne Lewis Jr. from Greenville. Following inquiries and examination of the incident, Lewis was apprehended and charged with Assault Causes Bodily Injury, with a bond set at $6,000.
Upon further scrutiny, authorities discovered that Lewis was subject to a judicial order warrant from the 354th District Court in Hunt County, relating to Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. This warrant was issued on February 19, 2023, during Lewis's incarceration in the Hunt County Detention Center. He had been held from February 11, 2023, to November 3, 2023, for violent offenses involving aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. For the Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child charge, he was granted a bond of $250,000 but was ultimately released on a personal recognizance bond. Lewis now faces these charges following his recent arrest.
