Texas Transportation Department Announces Bridge Replacement and Repair Projects in Lamar and Delta Counties

Texas Department of Transportation officials have revealed plans for significant bridge projects in Lamar and Delta Counties. Three bridges in Lamar County will undergo replacement, while repairs are scheduled for a bridge in Delta County.

THK Construction LLC has been awarded the contract for these projects, valued at over $3.7 million, with 238 working days allotted for completion. Work is set to commence on May 14, 2024, with an anticipated finish date of December 30, 2024.

The bridges slated for replacement in Lamar County are located at FM 38 over the West Fork of Sanders Creek, FM 1184 over Robertson Creek, and CR 16300 over Little Sandy Creek. During construction, these areas will be closed to through traffic, with detours arranged to facilitate alternate routes.

In Delta County, repair work is planned for CR 1150 over Lake Creek.

The initial focus of construction will be on CR 16300 over Little Sandy Creek in Lamar County, with barricades to be installed on May 13. Upon completion of this bridge replacement, work will progress to the subsequent sites.

Officials advise motorists to exercise caution when navigating through these areas, observing all barricades, traffic controls, and signage. Additionally, drivers are urged to minimize distractions and maintain reduced speeds while passing through work zones.
