On Wednesday, August 14th, 2024, at approximately 7:15 AM, Mount Pleasant Police Department (MPPD) officers and detectives responded to a Deadly Conduct/Shots Fired call-for-service in the area of Private Road 3015. During the investigation, MPPD obtained and served a search warrant on an involved residence.
During the execution of the search warrant, detectives seized over half a pound of cocaine, 2 ounces of heroin, and 8 firearms.
Rony Almendez, 33, was arrested for Deadly Conduct and Manufacturing or Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Damaso Rojas-Hernandez, 42, was arrested for Manufacturing or Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Melby Antunez-Ortega was arrested for Manufacturing or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Failure to Identify, Disorderly Conduct, and an outstanding arrest warrant.
Two other individuals were also arrested on non-narcotic-related charges. Each of these individuals was booked into the Titus County Jail.
