According to the Greenville Police Department, citizens are receiving call from a person saying that they work for the utility company.
The caller then asks for payment via Zelle or money order within 15 minutes; threatening to shut off utilities if payment is not received.
Police officials want all residents to be aware of this scam and to stay vigilant.
